Sadguru, humanitarian and spiritual mother to millions, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (“Amma”), unfurled the tricolor at the 2,600-bed Amrita Hospital in Faridabad to celebrate India’s 75th Independence Day.

All Amrita institutions across the country, including the Amrita Hospital in Kochi, Kerala, and the seven campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham university, have joined the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign by hoisting the Indian national flag.

As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, volunteers of AYUDH, the international youth movement of Mata Amritanandamayi Math, planted 75 tree saplings at the sprawling campus of Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, in honor of all the heroes who fought for India. It also adds to Amrita Hospital’s several environmental initiatives for creating natural spaces within its property. The healthcare institution will keep 70% of its land as green area by growing native plants and trees and maintaining water bodies which support local plant and animal life.

The Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, is set to be inaugured by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on August 24, 2022. The hospital’s benefits will go beyond providing access to the latest in healthcare technology and high-quality patient care for people across the world.

From an economic perspective, the hospital will bring immediate support to the Faridabad region with direct employment for approximately 2,000 people and indirect staff opportunities for 2,000 more. Once fully operational, the hospital will have around 10,000 staff and more than 800 doctors.
